I’m an experienced Secondary Schools Science Teacher. Teaching is a passion and I would consider myself to be a lifelong learning. I am currently taking a sabbatical in order to raise my young children. In my spare time I am a keen photographer and enjoy wildlife and sports photography.
I started teaching Science in 2005. I've taught all year groups at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. I was graded as outstanding by a former OFSTED inspector during a the most recent inspection. I completed a Masters Degree in Leading Learning which increased my involvement in the Academies Teaching and Learning program. This focuses on the best strategies to allow students to access the curriculum.
Over the last 10 years I have had the privilege of tutoring over 60 students through their GCSEs and A-Levels. A student must enjoy their learning, feel confident in their own knowledge and understanding of a subject. This is where I can help, students often know the right answers but need encouragement and motivation in order to succeed. Working with someone on a one to one basis is the best way to do this, as there is no peer pressure or distractions. My aim is to ensure students have the confidence in their own abilities to progress and achieve their potential.
