I studied Psychology at Nottingham Trent University from 2012 - 2015 and got a 2:1.
I studied Sociology as a minor.
I completed my A level's in 2008 and received an A and 2 B's
I completed the 120 hour online and in classroom course (2016) of teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and received a merit.
I start my PGCE in September 2018
I have worked in Redhill Academy, Nottingham as a teaching assistant with children who have special needs.
I volunteer at the Personal Support Unit branch of Nottingham Crown Court, where I also offer my advice services and abilities to support character witness statements, help write applications for legal aid or just offer that support they need to get through their day.
I am a true believer in boosting young people’s confidence and approach to learning as I truly believe this helps them later on in life both financially and emotionally and having that capability and putting it into practice. I think tutoring is a perfect way to engage with individuals and help them learn about both modern and archaic topics of the world.
I have also tutored one on one English and Maths classes for primary school up to the age of 11.
The way I will tutor my students is by tailor making the sessions each to their needs. In the introductory session I will make myself familiar with what they may already know and not need as much help on but I will also use students' own textbooks and refer to the curriculum. I can help with their homework and coursework and/or prepare sessions which are focusing on a particular subject.
I would like students to feel comfortable and learn at their own pace as studying should be enjoyable.
