Originally from the Wirral, I have lived in Yorkshire since October 2013. Away from work, I enjoy hiking (I do a lot of DofE in school), reading, and spending time with friends and family from back home.
I am in my second year of teaching following a Salaried School's Direct route that provided me with my own classes at the very start of my training due to prior experience. I currently teach Year 7 through to Year 13, delivering both Language and Literature at GCSE, and Language at A-Level.
Before training to teach, ai had been working as Key Stage 4 Learning Mentor with students who were working below target, either at the C/D borderline, or with A* students who were not yet filling their full potential.
Additionally, I have also worked with SEN students as Learning Support.
I will aim to approach each tutee individually to ensure their own needs are being met and adapt the delivery of sessions to meet these. There would be a mix of GCSE practice along with activities to develop understanding as well as broadening specific subject knowledge.
