I am an Oxford graduate with a doctorate in Chemistry, and worked as an industrial chemist in the oil industry before moving into teaching. I have taken up Chemistry tutoring following my retirement from full-time classroom teaching
I have 23 years’ experience teaching at GCSE and A-Level in Comprehensive and Grammar schools, 19 of them as Head of Chemistry. I am also a Senior A-Level practical adviser for one of the main examination boards.
I am offering Chemistry tuition at A-Level. Combining extensive subject knowledge and many years' experience with a friendly and approachable manner, I hope that I can help you to understand and practise the subject and be able to face exams with increased confidence.
I can offer regular knowledge-building sessions to complement your school lessons, whatever level you are currently working at.
I can help secure those topics you met at GCSE which will now be taken for granted and which you need to have mastered to make the best of your A-Level.
I can re-teach topics which you covered in class but do not yet feel confident about.
I can help practise exam technique in order to get as many marks as possible for the knowledge you have.
I have over my career delivered courses from all three of the main examination boards, and was involved with preparing the new A Level course for teaching in School.
