I am a fully qualified teacher and have been teaching at secondary school level since 2004. I am qualified for, and enjoy teaching, up to "A" level maths, mechanics, statistics, decision, further maths, and physcis. I am also an examiner in mathematics for OCR. Tutoring occurs face-to-face in the evenings and weekends. I am well versed in & regularly teach the "A" level maths syllabus for the 4 major "A" level exam boards. I enjoy maths and always feel satisfied when a student grasps an idea or learns a new technique.

Teaching since 2004, tutoring in Mathematics (A Level, GCSE & KS3) since 2006 and tutoring in Physics (A Level, GCSE & KS3) since 2012

I mainly aid in preparing pupils for success in exams and I have also been a tutor for home-schooled pupils.

When I meet a new student I devise an overall strategy, depending upon the student's needs, usually including the following:

* Fill in any gaps in your son / daughter's maths or physics knowledge

* Provide specific tutorials on topics they are struggling with

* Make school lessons easier to understand and more productive by studying in parallel with their current classwork

* Give advice and tips on examination techniques

* Help with revision

* Do plenty of past paper practice

Stephen**From Vanessa (5/5): ** *(A-Level Maths)* I am extremely pleased with the tutoring sessions Stephen delivers to my 17 year old. Each session is tailored to my son's specific needs. Stephen his calm, patient and able to keep my son motivated, focused and on task. He ensures my son really understands his work before moving on and I am confident my son will achieve the best A level results possible to him due to Stephen's excellent tutoring. I highly recommend him.

Stephen**From Sandra (5/5): ** *(A-Level Physics)*

Stephen**From Rachael (5/5): ** *(A-Level Maths)* Stephen is always polite and punctual. His tutoring has helped my son enormously!!

Stephen**From Wendy (5/5): ** *(A-Level Maths)* My son started having maths tuition with Stephen very late in the day for his maths A level after missing a lot of school. In a matter of just 3 or 4 weeks Stephen managed to restore Dylan's confidence and helped him to go through past papers and to work methodically through the syllabus, filling in the gaps in his knowledge. We were delighted that he ended up getting an A grade in his maths and know that this would not have been possible under the circumstances without Stephen's tuition. Thank you!

Stephen**From Chris (5/5): ** *(GCSE Maths)* Stephen helped our son enormously. A few short sharp tutorials focusing on areas of deficiency helped him uplift to a B grade.

Many thanks.

Many thanks.

Stephen**From Patsy (5/5): ** *(A-Level Maths)* Steve is a very organized teacher whos calm approach inspires confidence. Very pleased.

From Sharon (5/5):(GCSE Maths)My son needed a B grade in GCSE Maths to ensure he could take his chosen A levels. When Steve started tutoring him the school was predicting grade C. Steve worked through weaker areas and the one to one tuition as well as lots of practice questions meant a Grade B in August! Thank you.
