Bonjour ! My name is Stéphanie and I am a DBS checked native French tutor. My early background is in French Literature and Philosophy and more recently in the field of computer science and psychology. I am also an experienced SEMH / SEND TA in a local secondary school and regularly volunteer to support the MFL department with their GCSE French students.

In addition to my private tutoring services I am preparing a research degree in the field of child and adolescent's mental well being. My daily work with neurotypical and neurodiverse students means that I am familiar with all types of learning and can therefore accommodate whenever necessary.

Tutoring Experience

Since 2016 I have been doing French tutoring to KS2-KS5 students, with great final GCSE and A Level results. My tutees are primarily KS3, GCSE and A Level students from local grammar schools (Dr Challoner's Grammar School, John Hampden Grammar School), mainstream school (The Misbourne) and private schools (Stowe, Pipers Corner School).

I also tutor adult learners, mainly for conversational French.

In addition to my tutoring services I run a local French circle once a week, where my students can practice their French Speaking skills in a nice and friendly environment.

Tutoring Approach

Learning a foreign language like French is in my view rewarding and has the advantage of opening many doors to those who wish to embark on such a fantastic journey. Research has also shown that it has multiple positive effects on the development of the young brain and can even improve memory in adult/senior learners!
