English (Foreign Language)
Salut, bonjour, hola! I am currently teaching French and Spanish in a high school in Glasgow. Being half Swiss (bi-lingual english, swiss german), I have a great passion for travelling and foreign countries, so I love sharing my experiences and language skills with others. Being a secondary teacher of languages, I have a deep knowledge of the current curriculum. I am young, enthusiastic and have fresh ideas!
I completed my probation year in Fife, taught for 4 years in Aberdeen and am now working in the Glasgow area as a GTCS registered fully qualified secondary teacher of French and Spanish. I have also worked with our feeder primaries so have experience of teaching a vast range of ages. I have worked in both primary and secondary schools in France and Switzerland as well as tutoring English as a foreign language in Europe and South America
I find one on one conversations the best way to learn a language. It gives the student a chance to really improve in conversation skills, as well as feel comfortable to ask for explanations.I find speaking the target language is key to learning a language, and by using a variety of medias, I try to incorporate activities for writing, reading, listening and speaking in ways which will suit the students interests at the right level.

Stephanie, from her very first visit, put her at ease and each week their tutor /pupil relationship continued to grow into a productive and very positive teaching environment.
Stephanie was absolutely wonderful. Not only did she take my daughter from a failed prelim to a 'B' pass at Higher, but she rebuilt a confidence in French that had been previously been lost.
I would not hesitate to recommend Stephanie to anyone who is looking for a tutor in any of her languages.
Thank you Stephanie.

After her first hour she commented that she had learned more in an hour with Stephanie than she had at school in a month! On top of this she had fun which is a minor miracle from a self confessed French hater!
The teaching seems to be modern in style using magazines, games and computer rather than the usual dull lazy teaching techniques employed by her school. Early days but delighted so far.
