As well as being a teacher I spend my free time with my little boy and husband. When I find the time, I love to read and also love watching films and TV Boxsets although this happens a lot less nowadays!
I have nine years experience of teaching English Language, English Literature and Media Studies GCSEs in an ‘Outstanding’ English department within one of County Durham’s top achieving secondary schools.
I have taught numerous different exam specifications throughout my career, however I currently teach AQA Language and Literature and have experience as an exam marker for the Language Paper. I also teach OCR GCSE Media Studies.
I am also highly experienced at teaching KS3 and have produced schemes of work for both key stages. Additionally, I have extensive experience of intervention planning and implementation for GCSE students of all abilities.
I will work quickly to identify the skills that the individual student needs to build on to achieve success in the exam.
I understand that every student has a different way of learning and will adapt the session to suit this and their pace.
Throughout the sessions we will gradually build upon the skills required for the exam to ensure that they can approach each question with confidence and independence and with an improved understanding of the subject as a whole. I want students to enjoy the sessions and I believe they will find enjoyment through their growing confidence.
I also offer my first session for half price so that we can decide if you want to continue further with my tuition without paying full price.
