Media / Communication Studies
I am an experienced and passionate Acting Coach and filmmaker with a strong background in comedy, voice and movement. my degree is in Film and Video and I have my own film company which produces a variety of work from Short film to documentary.
I am a working actor and come from a background of film direction, method technique, comedy and improvisation. I have strong improvisational screen credits for the BBC, Night Bus and most recently worked with Ricky Gervais on David Brent: Life On The Road. **Removed By Admin**
I also work as a voice over artist,project manager have run my own film company and I set up writers charity events throughout London.
I find working with young people both exciting and rewarding, they are the practitioners and artists of tomorrow, our job is to keep them inspired.
Currently teaching Acting, Debating, Media Studies and Public Speaking skills at Academic Summer for young people and adults learning English as a second language, as well as workshops for various acting agencies, covering years 7-25 years. I am also delivering masterclasses on mindfulness and meditation for both Academic Summer and various local businesses. I also teach master classes and works shops on Branding and Communications to various businesses across the UK
I have also worked as a Drama and Comedy teacher for age groups 8 - 22 years, teaching both acting for Film and Television, Voice, Comedy, Clown, physical theatre puppetry,stage and musical theatre. I co-founded The Actors Ensemble which created its own work and provided training for actors, developing the voice and movement for five years. I also a board member for The Untold Story Board and mentor emerging theatre companies developing work for young people. I have also mentored several of my students as writers and coach professional actors privately.
The aim is always to keep it fun, it is often in our enjoyment of a subject that we learn more and push ourselves beyond what we believe to be our personal best. My lessons are structured in a way that allows the student to understand something for themselves rather than be told it and asked to accept it as fact. Its all very well telling a student to listen to the text if they do not understand why it makes life easier for them and how it will bring the text to life! While it is challenging the student should be left empowered not enabled!
