I am an experienced tutor with a PGCE (postgraduate certificate in eduction) and a Physics degree from Imperial College London. I achieved 12 A*s at GCSE and 3 A*s at A-level (Maths, Further Maths and Physics) plus an A in French.

Tutoring Experience

I have a wide range of experience in the UK education sector, and have in-depth knowledge of the major UK exam board curricula in Maths and the Sciences. I have three years’ experience tutoring people aged 7 to 27 in London, Bristol and online. I have also worked in schools for two years, initially working with SEND students, and then teaching science.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is always centred on the individual student and informed by my experience in education.

My priorities are:

1. Getting to know the student, being clear on hopes and expectations from the beginning.
2. Building confidence through praise and observable progress in knowledge and skills.
3. Active learning – students must be able to try out ideas and make mistakes to build independent problem solving skills.
4. Returning to fundamental concepts and underlying principles whenever needed.
5. Frequent use of exam-style questions.
6. Regularly checking in with parents.

I can also offer discussion opportunities beyond the curriculum in preparation for university interviews.
