A professional private tutor, currently based in Barcelona, with four years of experience. I specialise in English Literature and Language, Essay and Writing Skills, Interview Preparation and Mentoring, and work with students of all ages to build confidence and improve performance. I usually conduct sessions over Skype, using a range of online tools to make sessions interactive and engaging.

December 2017: English A Level
Tutored a Y12 student over Skype in Language Analysis, Poetry Analysis and writing skills to support his A Level teaching.
September 2017-Present: Content Writing, Editing and Translating
Worked freelance for Bourbon Creative Agency as a content writer, editor and translator with experience in writing to briefs for a range of businesses/ clients.
September 2017: Personal Statement Coaching.
Worked over Skype with a Y12 Student over two weeks to tailor her personal
statement for her application to Cambridge for English.
August 2017: Dissertation Editing and Help, BA
Provided intensive sessions over Skype to help improve writing, analysis and terminology of a student's 2nd Year Dissertation for English at King's College London. Student received a 2.i.
September 2016- June 2017: English Language Tuition, 16+ Admissions
Tutored a student throughout an academic year to prepare for English Language GCSE, raising her level from a C equivalent to an A equivalent. Also provided English grammar tuition, mentoring, essay writing and creative writing skills and interview coaching ahead of 16+ Assessments to St Pauls and Westminster School. The student gained a place at St Pauls school for 6th form.
October 2016: 16+ Preparation
Tutored a student in interview technique, essay writing skills and exam technique ahead of 16+ Admissions tests to Charterhouse and Wellington. The student gained places at both, competing against 400 applicants for 45 places.
September 2015- February 2016: Educational Play
Worked as a full time nanny to 2 children aged 1 and 3 including
educational play for the older child, introducing him to vocabulary,
numbers, letters and using music as an educational tool.
September 2015: Cambridge Entrance
Prepared a student for her English entrance test (ELAT) and interview for University of Cambridge admissions, as well as providing personal mentoring, organisational skills and confidence building. Student gained a place for 2016.

Tutoring Approach

I usually conduct sessions over Skype, using a range of online tools to make sessions interactive and engaging. I like to teach discursively, encouraging students to talk through any issues they might have, whilst also encouraging independent work and incorporating tests to measure progress.
