After graduating from Durham with a degree in Anthropology, Theology and English I worked as a documentary researcher. Plum pictures is a talent led documentary, where I had the pleasure on working on a broad range of factual programmes, delving into fascinating topics from murderers to lawn mowers. I decided to take a risk and make the scary leap to pursue a career in Acting having written and created a new writing company with some friends in order to create my own work.
I would love to enable any young creatives applying to drama school or trying to find the right path to their passions .
I am passionate about helping young people with dyslexia and learning difficulties- as someone whose brain seemed to function slightly differently to a school syllabus I have learnt many ways to structure my time, essays and energy to be as productive and empowered as possible. I am keen to help indivuals gain confidence through new creative ways of learning and concentration skills.
I have previously tutored a young boy for his senior school entrance exam; mainly focusing on reading and comprehension and time management and exam skills.
I worked with a 9 year-old on her maths to build up her confidence and practice exam technique.
I also spent considerable time working with year 3 boy who was struggling with reading and writing combined with some learning difficulties. My main focus was building his concentration and interest.
I like to spend some time with parents and guardians to clarify every couple of weeks their expectations and how they can aid the work I do during tutoring. I want my students to enjoy lessons with me and leaving feeling more intrigued by school and more confident.
