Personal Description:

Back to School Offer - 10% off hourly rate if booked September 2016
I have GCSE's in Maths and Stats, an A Level in Maths, a degree in Maths and many years teaching experience in Maths.
Ever since my own days at school I have had a real passion and enjoyment for mathematics. I regularly took part in the UK Mathematics Challenge and used to run the program in my school now that I am a teacher.
I studied independently for additional qualifications in statistics. Having completed my PGCE in Secondary Mathematics I went on to work at numerous 'Good' and 'Outstanding' schools around the country.
Being a current secondary school teacher means that I am up to date with all the new requirements for the Maths GCSE and the Statistics GCSE.

Tutoring Experience:

I trained for and completed my PGCE in Plymouth gaining experience in Devonport High School for Boys, Tamarside College and The Plymouth Hospital School in the process. Following the completion of the course I began teaching at Hemsworth Arts and Community College across the full range of Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. I currently work at a school in Havering teaching all of KS3 and KS4. I have a wide range of experience, from helping students towards their Entry Level qualifications to ensuring A* candidates achieve their full potential. I have provided individual tuition to students over the last 8 years and have good experience of working with learners with special educational needs.
Over the past few years all my students have met their required FFT and predicted grades at GCSE for both Maths and Statistics and in my private tutoring work all my tutees who have undertaken their GCSE following my tuition (and their hard work) have achieved grades higher than their school predictions.

Tutoring Approach:

My passion, experience and deep understanding of the subject allow students to make significant progress with their mathematics. I am friendly, enthusiastic and creative in my approach and offer a wide range of tailor made resources. I provide personalised learning plans, based around students' individual needs, and have an extensive library of subject-related material. I can provide tutoring at primary or secondary level, from Key Stage 2 all the way up to Key Stage 4. I use a range of different approaches in my teaching and believe that maths should be fun and engaging.
I offer a flexible service and can arrange times to fit around your commitments, at a location that is convenient for you. I am a qualified teacher and member of the GTC. I hold a current DBS (formerly CRB) check.
