I am 40 years old, married with three beautiful children. I am currently an A-level Biology examiner and have also examined GCSE Sciences.
I have been teaching all three sciences at GCSE and Biology at A-level since 2002. I am currently an A-level examiner for Biology and examine papers 2 & 3 (including the essay). I have held this role with the exam board for the past 9 years. I have also examined various GCSE science papers and moderated Science GCSE coursework. I am currently Head of Science at a local school.
I am an enthusiastic teacher with a passion for developing others as well as myself. I am friendly, but assertive and will expect the best from you. I will use a variety of diagnostic tests to determine your strengths and weaknesses and tailor your sessions to meet your needs. I have excellent subject knowledge and a wealth of resources to get you back on track. Do you have problems with your exam technique? Or are you worried about your synoptic essay? Being an examiner, I can help you drill down into the questions so that you gain a greater insight into what is expected of you. I will also help and support you with regards your approach to studying and revision to ensure that you are using your time effectively. Whether you need regular sessions or a few hours intensive help, I am sure I can help you raise your grade.
The first session is free and will generally be a conversation between the student, parent/s and myself to determine what the issues are and plan ahead.

It was clear after my first session with Simon that he was going to be able to help me. He got me to clarify areas where I thought my knowledge was weakest and we worked on those first. He also had hints and tips for revision, that worked better for me as a dyslexic, that I had not heard of before I only started tutoring with him a short time before the exams but he was very accommodating and willing to fit in extra sessions where possible. Wish I'd found him earlier! His teaching style is supportive and understanding and I was able to regain my confidence without fear of failure so close to the exams. I cannot recommend Simon highly **Web Address Removed**
