I am currently an Assistant Headteacher and year 6 teacher working in Leicester who understands the pressure that SATs exams put on both pupils and parents! I really enjoy working with children of any age up to 11 and helping them to realise their hidden potential.
I have taught year 6 for the past 7 years with a year in year 5 previous to that. My experience prior to primary teaching was over 15 years in adult education and Family Learning.
My approach to tutoring is to try and make the subject fun and relevant by applying concepts to everyday life. As I work in a year 6 class I have access to up to date resources, assessment tools and I like to use ICT to enhance sessions.I believe it is important to help any child to identify both their strengths and weaknesses and from this to help them to build up their confidence positively therefore making any struggles they may have in the classroom seem less daunting.
