Saif

Hi. My name is Saif. I presently work as a Head of Chemistry in a secondary school in Berkshire. Previously, I was an Assistant Head of Science at a very successful school in West London. I studied Chemistry at University, after attaining four grade 'A's in 'A' Level Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Maths. After graduation, I completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, specialising in secondary science with 'A' Level Chemistry. I have now been teaching for over 15 years.

Tutoring Experience

I am a highly experienced science and chemistry teacher, with an exceptional track record of enabling pupils to achieve strong academic grades. I have been teaching for over 15 years. I possess extensive experience of tutoring and teaching the major exam specifications, which include Edexcel, AQA, OCR B and the OCR A syllabus at both GCSE and 'A' Level Chemistry. As a person, I am diligent, conscientious and always facilitate in a way to ensure my pupils fulfil their academic potential.

Tutoring Approach

As an experienced teacher, I know and appreciate that all students will have their own individual needs. The utmost importance for me is to build a purposeful relationship, so my students feel at ease and have the courage to question and query to help enhance their understanding. Sessions will always be tailored to the students need or requirements, with regular interleaving of practising exam questions and refining exam technique skills.

I believe in the importance of setting an action plan in collaboration with my pupils, so they know the tasks required of them in order to make progression. It is first important to identify the main areas of weakness, either by assessment or discussion and hence plan how these particular areas can be addressed in order to make improvements.
