Information About Sherin - Derby tutor - (8 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Sherin:
I hold a BSc and MSc in Maths along with a BSc in finance currently pursuing my further education into chartered accountancy.I come with 7 years of experience in teaching students from ages 8-18 ,i.e KEY stage 2(year 3-6),Key stage 3(year 7-9), GCSE(year 10 &11) and A-levels(year 12,13).
I probably would not come across as one of the strictest teachers because i firmly believe in understanding a child's psychology and henceforth becoming an integral part of their progress in education by guiding them in the right direction.Having taught for the past 7 years, my passion in teaching has bought about excellent results with 100%(A* and A's at GCSE) and 100% (A-B at A-levels).
I am not giving any false promises because it depends on the child's ability and previous educational background. But I am confident that my tutoring will be beneficial and challenging with continuous progress in your child's education.

Sheri was an amazing tutor. She taught my daughter memorable techniques that weren't taught at school.
Although she teaches in groups of threes we found this a positive experience as this helped the group understand concepts better.
She provides homework which is marked during tuition lesson so that she can go over mistakes so you get a lot more for your money.
She has a very caring and approachable personality and my daughter gained back her lost confidence very quickly with Sherin.
I couldn't be more happy to vouch for her. She is an excellent tutor!
i personally prefer teaching in groups of 2 because from my personal experience in the past ,as a teacher I have gathered that students tend to work more actively when taught in groups and they tend to remain attentive for longer.Since a group of 2 is small,I can also make sure that I am available to give them full attention.
I was unaware of the fact that you were only looking for one to one tutoring because there was no specific mention of this in your tutoring request.
Also ,Following on from what is taught in school can be very tricky especially since topics are covered on the basis of predicted grades.depending upon the set in which your child is designated, topics are chosen to help achieve those specific target grades.this means that certain topics are skipped and there is no going back to it .however,I attempt to cover every single topic with my students in order to make sure that no topic is missed.my students are not disadvantaged because of schools choices of picking topics to match their predicted grades .this also ensures that a students grade would purely reflect their ability and not merely a grade that they were predicted and prepared by their school to achieve.and to be honest my methods have worked for numerous students in the past.i have had a 100% A*-B with(8A* ,3A and 2B in the academic year **Telephone Number Removed** students who were predicted D"s have come out scoring A"s and I firmly believe that this is because I had faith in the students ability and my method over following a synthetic route dictated by the school for a child.
I personally feel that you could have better communicated your requirements before committing to accepting my tutoring if you had particular requirements .
