Personal Description:

I am an experienced tutor who has a passion for helping children and adults alike fulfill their potential.

I graduated in BSc Psychology (1st class Hons) and alongside tutoring, currently work as a Research Assistant at King's College London. This experience in the professional world of Psychology allows me to teach in a comprehensive manner, advising tutees on career paths and directing my tuition towards personal and professional development. This can help students see the bigger picture, and enhance motivation for careers in psychology in the future.

I also am involved in a variety of music ensembles as well as remaining a solo pianist, keeping me in touch with my love of music and skills as a musician alongside my psychology career.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been a private tutor for over 7 years, teaching children aged 7-18 years old and undergraduate students. I have experience in a small range of subjects including Psychology, Music Theory and Performance (piano) and English Literature. Currently, I have a 100% distinction rate for my piano pupils, ranging from Grades 1-4. I have also helped undergraduate students obtaining coursework averages of 40-48% achieve averages of 68-71%.

I have spent 6 months teaching in the United States of America, where I was responsible for the musical theatre department at a summer school, acting as the musical director for 3 shows, as well as leading the children's activity centre.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a friendly, approachable and understanding private tutor. I understand that pupils each require a unique approach to learning and teaching. Discussing this between tutor and pupil before commencing tuition significantly increases productivity throughout the learning process. Therefore I aim to fully understand a pupil's goals and potential as soon as possible so that both the pupil and myself have a mutual understanding of what we aim to achieve from the tuition.

Please note: Travel is not included in the hourly rate. An additional £3 is added to cover public transport expenses.
