Hi there! My name is Sarah and I'm a secondary school maths teacher in Birmingham. I received my PGDiped from University of Birmingham in 2016 and I'm Irish. I received a scholarship from the Institute of Mathematics and Applications (IMA) when I was training to be a teacher and I'm an associate member of the London Mathematics Society (LMS). I'm really passionate about maths and science and just want to share this enthusiasm with others.
Qualified Teaching Status (QTS), PGDipEd in Mathematics from University of Birmingham, Secondary School Maths Teacher.
Previously tutored A-level and GCSE students in maths and science.
As a secondary schools and A-level teacher I'm extremely familiar with the new curriculum and what is expected of students. I love maths and my aim is to deepen the students knowledge of topics so they have a greater understanding which will result in links being created within maths. From teaching I've found that when students develop their own awareness's, as opposed to being told rules to remember, they find it a lot more rewarding and have a greater understanding. With the new curriculum students are now expected to be more resilient. This is a key skill which I try to ensure students will develop from working with me.
