Personal Description:

Hi all! My name is Sarah and I'm a Politics and International Relations graduate from the University of Cambridge. I have extensive experience working with young people applying to university. So far I have worked with over 100 students, many of whom have achieved offers from Oxbridge and other Russell Group universities.

If you/your child needs… - Advice choosing a degree subject and/or university
- Support writing a personal statement
- UCAS support (e.g. advice on references and predicted grades)
- Oxbridge admissions advice (personal statements and interview technique)

… please get in touch. In our first session (which is always free) we will discuss your needs in order to create a suitable development programme.

I also specialise in essay preparation, writing and editing for university students from Humanities/Social Sciences backgrounds, and, revision techniques for students.

I work as a Policy Advisor at HM Treasury and in my spare time I enjoy reading and acting.

Tutoring Experience:

In my previous job, working as the 'Pre-University and Campus Co-ordinator' at a diversity recruitment firm called Rare, I worked with over 100 Year 12 and Year 13 students. My support included personal statement guidance, interview preparation and teaching study skills, as well as running workshops to improve students' public speaking and debating technique.

At university, I organised the first access and admissions conference at Trinity College which was attended by over 120 students and teachers. I have also tutored Year 9s Maths and worked with students on coursework, GCSE and A Level exam prep.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to raise the ambition and realise the potential of my tutees. To achieve this goal, it is important for me to understand you, your strengths, areas of improvement, interests and aspirations prior to starting a tutoring programme. For this reason, my first lesson is always a free consultation so we can get to know each other and discuss your aims. If all goes well, I'll devise a bespoke programme for you and then the tutoring begins!

I will offer as much help as I feel my tutee needs. This means that I will only take onboard new students if I have sufficient capacity.
