Sarah offers a FREE first / introductory lesson!
I am a qualified and experienced teacher of English, offering private tuition across Canterbury and the surrounding towns and villages. Tuition is available either in my home office, or at your home.
Tuition is available for all ages and abilities, including Kent Test (all components); primary, secondary (11-14) GCSE, A level and post-16 studies, as well as adult learning.
I have 16 years teaching experience in Kent schools (both selective and non-selective). During this time I have held positions of responsibility including second in English department, cross-curricular literacy coordinator and subject mentor to trainee teachers.
I have a strong examination record through teaching English / English Literature at GCSE and A level.
In addition to classroom practice, I have supported and tutored students on an individual basis throughout my career both privately and within schools. I also have considerable experience in working with students with additional educational needs.
I am an A level examiner and a member of **Contact Detail Removed**.
A love for English Language and Literature is central to my work ethos. My aim as a private tutor is to complement classroom learning through enjoyable but focused sessions, while instilling confidence and enthusiasm in students so that they can achieve their academic goals.
My tuition sessions are tailored to individual needs and goals. I offer a free initial consultation to parents and students to ensure a clear programme of study. With students preparing for the Kent test, I can offer tuition in all areas. My rates are £30 per hour with a £5 surcharge if I am travelling to your home.
