I was born in Italy, in the Venetian region, where I grew up and where I was educated. However, during my studies I lived in France, Germany, in the UK and Hungary and I travelled a lot around Europe, which has helped me to understand different language structures as well as cultures. After my graduation in 2007 I moved to Manchester where I started my first experience in education with children, teenagers and adults. After several experiences as a teaching assistant and private tutor, in 2013 I started my PGCE in teaching Italian at Uclan University. I am currently studying for my QTLS.
I teach Italian delivering adult FE courses from beginners to advanced levels at Oldham Longlife Learning, Bolton College and I have also had experience teaching GCSE and in working with children and young people. I worked at UClan, Lancashire College and in several high schools as a teaching assistant such as in Horwich and Chorley which helped me to gain lot of experience in working with special needs people at various ages and levels.
When teaching to individuals or groups I decide the teaching programme according to learners’ needs and interests. The strategy that I use when planning a lesson is to combine the theory with the practice aspects of the language. I prepare a range of activities to cover all the language areas: writing, speaking, listening and reading considering all types of students learning styles. I build up learners’ confidence to communicate correctly by supporting students and by speaking in Italian as much as possible from the beginner levels. Resources and learning activities will be given at each lesson.
