I am currently employed as a Science teacher So have full working knowledge of exam specifications. I am a Mum of three older children who came to teaching later on in life having previously worked in Special Needs Education. I have been successfully tutoring for the past 9 years with great success. My degree is in Biology with Biochemistry. I currently teach to Aqa specification but have experience of other exam boards, particularly OCR and Edexcel which I have taught to A level and am very good at teaching students how to read and interpret exam questions!! I currently teach across the whole age range at secondary school. I am also an exam marker for GCSE AQA higher Biology paper - which gives me a more detailed understanding of answers that are required for marks. I believe myself to be thoroughly proffessional in my approach to teaching but also have a relaxed style that allows students to develop confidence and achieve their best. I am available to tutor after school or weekends only. I am willing to tutor long term or short term for re-sits. I also am an experienced Sixth form tutor and have worked extensively on guiding students through the UCAS process and have also worked with medics preparing for BMAT. Please note I have very limited availability at present and can only offer tutoring from my home.
Currently teaching at a secondary school in Bradford. I teach across all age ranges from 11 - 18.
I am a fully qualified teacher in Science with Biology as my specialism but also teach chemistry though I would only teach lower level Chemistry as I do not consider my knowledge detailed enough for helping those aiming for higher grades.
I have a background of working in special education where I underwent considerable training in helping lower achievers reach their potential.
I have taught in an outstanding school for higher achieving students so can equally meet the demands of those striving for top grades.
Currently an exam marker for AQA - GCSE Higher Biology Paper 2
I am thoroughly proffessional being punctual and reliable. I like to adjust my teaching to the needs of those that I teach ensuring that they strive to reach their potential. I consider my approach to be caring and nuturing aiming to increase confidence and abilities. I have extensive knowledge of a range of approaches and currently working as a teacher allows me to be aware of what exam boards expect meaning that I can prepare students for sitting exams.
