This is how 2 referees rated Sandra:
I'm an English Literature PhD candidate at University of Hull. In 2013 I was awarded an MA in English Literature, having graduated with a 2:1 degree in English Literature with Creative Writing from University of Hull in 2011.
I am an avid book collector and have a passion for literature, language and reading which I hope to pass on to my students. I am looking to assist primary, secondary or undergraduate degree level students studying English Literature and/or English Language.
For several years I volunteered at a specialist school which offers education to students with moderate to severe learning difficulties. I was part of a team that encouraged communication and learning through creativity. I learnt to adapt my methods to suit the needs of the pupil and developed inventive learning methods.
I am passionate about education and learning (so much so that I've become a perpetual student!) and hope to pass my love of English Literature and Language on to others.
As a student, I can empathise with the stress and pressure of exams, and aim to equip my students with the knowledge and revision techniques to combat this. I create personalised study schemes based upon the students approach to learning, aims, strengths and weaknesses. I believe that learning should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, and therefore have a relaxed approach which educates through creative methods. I aim to give my students confidence in their own ability, something which is necessary in order to succeed.
