Samuel

Glasgow Tutor

I am a British music theorist, guitarist, and bass trombonist. I studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland specialising in composition, conducting, and improvisation. I have been a professional musician for more than 10 years and I still have a passion for the craft and a love for helping people to develop creatively.

Tutoring Experience

Free Lance Guitar Tutor for 4 years.
Conducting Tutor for 2 years.
Barbershop Quartet Leader for 3 years.
Artistic Director / Conductor of Tapton Orchestra for 1 year.
Assistant to Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra in GIO Children's Workshop (GIOFest IX)
Associated Artist for Scottish Chamber Orchestra's Instrument Armoury.

Tutoring Approach

I take a positive approach to tutoring. I normally begin by working out where I think a pupil is in their artistic practice and depending upon what is necessary I may take a pupil through ABRSM grades, Trinity grades or a personalised programme specific to the pupil's wants and needs.
