I am a currently a university student at the University of Essex, studying Modern History and International Relations. I thoroughly enjoy my degree and look to take this passion for history and education into a full time teaching job once I finish university. I am an avid reader of all types of books and enjoy various hobbies such as running, football and learning Spanish.

Tutoring Experience

I have many years experience as a sports coach, teaching children and adults sports, with a speciality in football and more specifically goalkeeping coaching. I have done this sports coaching inside and outside of a school environment, meaning the I have the experience and ability to nurture each child's ability. I also currently tutor for action tutoring, where I tutor English to 2-3 children. This has given me experience of online tutoring and has prepared me for tutoring in an online environment.

Tutoring Approach

The approach I like to take with all my students, regardless of subject is one of understanding and wider learning of their subject. I always try to make sure that each student has a true understanding of what they are studying. I believe that this grounds students in what they are learning and helps them to excel, beyond just what I am teaching them in our sessions. I think that teaching for exams is beneficial in the short run, but long term it simply doesn't help students, with a holistic approach that incorporates at wider understanding of the subject, the student can continue to grow and learn even if the tuition has stopped!
