Our son has recently started having one to one maths lessons with Sam. Although it's early days, our son already appears to have more confidence in his ability in maths. Sam, from a parent's point of view, appears to be enthusiastic and is inspiring our son to achieve the best he can. So far, we are happy with our son's progress.

He was indeed professional in his writing, but not in how he dealt with my specific case. After paying the 25 pounds introductory fee, almost going ahead with him ,was told that he does only 2 hour sessions which would end up 120 pounds or more. That is simply not professional when 1 hour would be more than enough for my needs.

Just to make few stuff clear, so you are aware. I am currently 20 years old from Easter Europe and just completed my first year of my 2 year ICT BTEC course, but after looking into Universities and asking around, came to the conclusion that my GCSE Maths grade wont be enough that had received 2 years ago, which was a C, short 2/3 points from a B. Due to not even touching maths since then, have forgotten and gotten rusty. My predicted grades for my main course are D*D*D - D*D*D* and need at least a 6, but if possible and 8 by this November. I have found a place to take the exam as a private candidate this fall.

Sam is a very good teacher, we have had 7 lessons already, he very responsible and courtesy.
When he is asking for a question they have good communication together, which the most important part is he will tell the kids how did you get this answer and the question behind the answer. Therefore, the kids can understand fully, I think this is are a very important part of learning, I hope in the future will be better

Sam is currently helping me out with A Level Maths and Chemistry. I contacted him a week before my Year 12 exams asking him if he can help me with Maths and Chemistry topics I am uncomfortable with, and we managed to arrange times for each day of the half term holiday in which he would tutor me and help me through difficult areas. Sam is an incredibly engaging tutor and has helped me understand so much over this week. Every session with him has increased my confidence bit by bit, and confidence is one of the main things you should go into an exam not lacking in. He is very reassuring when going over topics and loves tutoring, which also is a big factor in being good at what he does. I myself look forward to each lesson and gain so much from what he teaches. Sam tutors our three kids aged 7, 12 and 15 in maths and the 15 year old also in science.
He adapts very easily between the different ages and finds the right way of encouragement and firmness with all three of them. Sam comes well-prepared for classes and gives the kids a good amount of homework. He approaches our tutoring with much more rigour than previous tutors: for example with the 15-year old, he has a good view of where she needs to be for GCSEs and then, taking into account where she stands at the moment and what is covered in school, is pushing her beyond her comfort zone to cover areas of the curriculum which she is not confident in. Sam has a strong academic background; it is clear that he worked hard as a student and expects the same from our children. Sam’s engaging character works like a magnet and has helped our children approach learning with more enthusiasm.
