I have nearly thirty years experience teaching mathematics as a school teacher and as a private tutor. I have recently retired. I was with my last school for over twenty years, there I acquired the nickname as "The Maths Whisperer" because of my ability to teach students who find mathematics challenging. The parents of my A Level students are also very complimentary about my style and ability to explain things clearly and efficiently. I have been married to my gorgeous wife for 33 years and have two grown up kids.
I have been teaching Edexcel A Level Mathematics and IGCSE Mathematics for over twenty in my current school.
I taught GCSE Mathematics in my previous school for nine years where I was also the Mathematics coordinator.
I have been private tutoring for nearly thirty years.
I have been honing my approach for a very long time. I believe that I have developed over the years many subtle and ingenious ways of explaining complex mathematical ideas. I also have a wide variety of interests in science and economics so I am able to put the mathematical ideas into context, allowing the students see the real world utility of what they are learning. Above all the my key skill is knowing when to revisit material again, continuously checking that the student has retained the skills and knowledge he or she needs for the examination.
