I am a young, approachable and enthusiastic teacher. Having lived in Kent for a period of time, I am now based in Suffolk.
Alongside my charity work, I enjoy helping young people to achieve their goals.
Having graduated with a 1st class degree in 2013, I worked as a Cover Supervisor and English intervention teacher in an 'outstanding' school in East Anglia. This involved working with borderline students at GCSE - all of which achieved at least their target grades at GCSE.
The following year I completed my PGCE at UEA, graduating as an 'outstanding' trainee.
Since then I have worked in Ipswich. I teach English and all abilities across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. My A-level teaching includes English Language and English Language/Literature.
I became a teacher as I firmly believe that every child has the right to succeed in education - this belief is still at the centre of my approach to teaching.
I understand that some pupils need extra help outside of the classroom, and I enjoy the challenge of helping youngsters set and reach realistic goals.
Central to my approach is personalising learning for every individual. I will take time getting to know your child's needs, setting targets in line with the relevant specifications and mark schemes, whilst providing regular feedback to act upon.
I have experience in dealing with pupils where a lack of confidence or engagement prevents progress from being made, with these challenges being overcome as a result of positive relationships being established.
