I am currently working as an Outreach worker working with children with a learning disability and challenging behaviour. My previous work experience includes work as an assistant psychologist and as a research associate at UEA.
I live in Essex so ideally would tutor there or East London.
I have an A Level in Psychology (Grade A), a BA Developmental Psychology (2:1), Msc Psychology and a Post Grad Cert in Clinical and Community Psychology (Distinction).
I have a current DBS (2015) (previously CRB check)
I am friendly, enthusiastic and reliable and really enjoy working with young people.
I have a 'Preparing to Teach in the Life Long Learning Sector' teaching qualification.
I have taught children with Autism in school and home environments.
I have tutored students on AQA and Edexcel exam boards for the past 3 years. I tutor face to face at my home or at a students home and I can tutor via FaceTime/Skype for a reduced fee.
I plan each tutoring session with students and tailor the support I give based on the needs of each student. I am in contact with students in between sessions as necessary and can informally mark school/college work. I have ready-prepared question sheets/worksheets and essay planners that I have used with previous students.
Psychology has a certain style of language and structure that it adopts in writing. I am committed to ensuring students become efficient at grasping the specific methods of writing essays, projects and research to a high standard.
I work with all students to achieve their highest grade possible and I have supported students in their decisions regarding university/course choices and with UCAS applications.
