I'm a friendly 21 year old Statistics graduate looking to help any students with their mathematics. Having been through the education system recently I know that exams can be daunting and sometimes a little external help can go a long way. I pride myself on being very approachable and a great communicator.
During my studies I have been involved in many projects where I needed to explain my research and ideas to both peers and lecturers, which has always been well received. Among fellow classmates I have often been sought out to offer explanations of complex ideas due to my ability to explain them in digestible formats.
I will start by doing a general feeler session where I assess the student's current ability over different topics as well as asking how confident they feel about each topic. Once this has been established I will plan lessons around the problem areas, starting with easier examples and building confidence before moving on once the student is more confident. I don't necessarily see value in re-teaching the entire curriculum unless the student specifically needs the full coverage and will instead focus on the understanding of those problem areas.
