I have experience of working as a teacher in a primary school for 20 years. I have an OCR level 5 qualification in specific learning difficulties (dyslexia) and have worked with children who have speech and language needs, as well as autism.
I am available to tutor between 4 and 7 after school and during the day for home schooling.
I have taught in KS1, 2, Foundation stage and then in the role of SENCo. I have been involved with many intervention groups with children who have a learning need and offered advice to staff. I also have experience as a 1 to 1 tutor working in KS 1 and 2 within several schools locally.
I enjoy working with children as a tutor and seeing the accelerated progress that they can make in a short period of time. In order for a student to make this progress work needs to be carefully tailored to their needs. I like to look at where the student is currently and fill in the gaps in order to move them forward.
I work with parents in supporting them with helping their children to learn. I can provide this as a specific focus if required. This is often very useful when supporting younger children, or for home schooling.
