I am a professional translator in the advertising industry. I lived in Japan for five years and during that time I worked for Hankyu and gained my MA in Japanese linguistics.
I have extensive teaching experience in the private sector and in Universities ranging over 5 years. I have taught children as young as 5 and my oldest student so far was 92.
I have a very strong focus on basics, I absolutely insist that all of my students learn the Japanese alphabet because all of the grammar can be taken from there on. My lessons consist of a lot of writing and reading with constant listening and oral recitation. There is also a lot of focus upon the correct forms and pronunciation before delving into more casual usage.
