Information About Ruth - Roehampton tutor
This is how a referee rated Ruth:
Great with children and gifted in teaching! I love spending time with children and helping them to learn. The children that I work with would describe me as fun and able to "explain things so that I understand them"! Parents of the children would say that I have a loving approach to children and am able to build relationship quickly.
Volunteering has taken me to China and the Philippines to teach music and drama workshops. In the UK, I have helped children struggling with Autism and learning difficulties to not fall behind in mainstream classes. I currently work as a Nanny as I love to support children in their home and tutoring them for homework and exams is a big part of my role. I obtained a first-class degree in BA (Hons) Creative Expressive Therapies which taught me how to teach and lead workshops, as well as child psychology and development.
I have found that gaining a child's trust and respect is the quickest way to see fruitful results when encouraging them to study. Building a relationship is important to me but I also believe in working hard! This is why I am successful in helping children to learn. Children are quickly at ease with my company and this helps them to relax and settle into the task at hand. I am strict insofar as I do not allow distractions but I am warm in my approach. I like children to enjoy what they are learning, so I find fun and interesting ways of explaining concepts. Heartfelt praise is a big part of how I encourage children to achieve and I love to see all children reach their full individual potential.
