A Mathematics graduate, I am an experienced teacher of Business, Accounting and Mathematics (particularly GCSE and iGCSE Mathematics). I worked for many years as Course Manager for Computing Degrees at Farnborough College of Technology and so I have a valuable understanding of the many problems students can encounter with examinations. Problems arising from students with Dyslexia, Aspergers right through to professional adults who are taking qualifications while in full time work and so have time management issues.
I also have much experience in guiding overseas students in their studies, ensuring they maximise their potential, whether it is in one particular subject or across their whole degree programme.
My teaching skills base and experience is particularly suited to teenagers and adults.
I have a wide variety of teaching experience, both on a one-to-basis and also to groups:
ï· - Personal tutoring students for GCSE (or iGCSE) Mathematics.
ï· - Teaching the following subjects in college:
ï Business at degree level
ï Project Management using PRINCE2 at degree level
ï· - Personal tutoring students in A level Business Studies and degree level Project
After an initial assessment, we will produce a study plan with clear milestones and deadlines linked to the examinations being taken.
Assessments will be set after each tutor session and progress monitored.
The focus of all work will be to maximise the examination grades achieved.
The reason students require tutoring is usually linked to some degree of stress, and consequently I try to ensure the sessions are as enjoyable as possible and rapport is good between the student and myself.
