I am a qualified, experienced teacher with a B.A. (Hons) in English, and I bring enthusiasm, patience, and professionalism to every lesson I teach. My approach is always personalised — I take time to understand each student’s unique interests, strengths, and learning style so that lessons are not only effective but also engaging and enjoyable.
I believe that real success comes when students feel motivated, supported, and challenged. That’s why I aim to make every session an exciting step forward, building both knowledge and confidence.
Most of my teaching now takes place online, an option that families find both flexible and highly effective. Using a secure, professional videoconferencing platform, I create an interactive learning environment where students feel comfortable, focused, and eager to participate. Many of my learners actually prefer this approach and thrive with the convenience and accessibility it offers.
My goal is simple: to help every student I work with unlock their potential and grow into a confident, independent learner who enjoys the challenge of achieving success.
I have many years’ experience of teaching in schools and colleges in the UK and abroad. A deep passion for helping every student achieve their potential led me to specialise in one-to-one tuition. I initially completed specialist county council training in one-to-one tuition and have spent over 15 years now delivering English, Maths and entrance exams tuition, tailoring each lesson to the individual learner. My experience as an examiner for a popular exam board - for A Level English Language and Literature - gives me unique insight into how exams are assessed, enabling me to guide students in developing effective study skills, revision strategies, and exam techniques that lead to real confidence and success.
I have helped many students gain entry to top independent and grammar schools at 11+ and 13+, and I also provide preparation for school interviews. I am proud of my students’ exceptional achievements — recently including scholarships to Eton, Winchester, and a place at Dulwich College — yet my true focus is on helping every learner become confident, independent, and motivated, developing a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
I am deeply passionate about each student’s learning journey and attuned to their individual needs, which allows me to build a strong, trusting rapport. There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing students grow in confidence and ability through personalised tuition, seeing them embrace challenges, celebrate progress, and develop the skills to succeed both academically and personally.
