I am a Teach First Ambassador and worked in an academy in London for three and a half years as a Maths and Economics Teacher. During my time there I was Head of Economics, a Teacher Development Co-ordinator (responsible for teacher training across the school), a member of the Sixth Form Tutor Team (helping students with UCAS, personal statements, organisational skills and subject issues) and part of the school’s Leadership Development Programme.
I am a committed and passionate teacher who strives to build knowledge and interest in subjects through the use of current affairs and theory in practice.
During my time in a school, I taught Year 7-11 GCSE Maths, Year 11 GCSE and Year 12-13 A-Level Economics. Alongside classroom teaching, I carried out a number of smaller, focused group or one-to-one sessions to help students really understand any theory they were struggling with in lessons or to push them beyond this level to reach the top grades.
In addition to my in-school experience, I have tutored Year 3-8 English and Maths, GCSE Maths, GCSE and A-Level Geography and GCSE and A-Level Economics. I have also worked with Year 13 students on revision skills.
In addition to these teaching roles, I am also an examiner for OCR and AQA Economics.

“As a student who has never learnt economics before, having Rose as my tutor for the beginning of my A level course has proven to secure my foundation on key economic concepts that will be essential for the rest of the course. I am also very grateful for Rose's help and support in teaching me how to structure and write an essay. Year 13 - Edexcel Economics October 2021 Resit A* - Latymer Upper
“Rose tutored our son for his Economics A-Level including some introductory sessions before his course started as it was a brand new subject for him. Rose was brilliant at bringing the subject to life for our son and applying the principles to current events that our son could relate to and understand. Rose’s appreciation for the details of the syllabus and the exam format were reassuring and her teaching was patient, empathetic and energising. Rose was both teaching her subject as well as teaching our son about the standard expected at A-Level which was invaluable.”

When teaching I like to use a range of resources so students are engaged in what they are learning and get to immediately see its relevance to the world around them.
I encourage my students to question theory we cover so as to build their analytical and evaluative skills.
I have worked with students of all levels and, as a result, have a wide variety of teaching resources I can use to ensure content is appropriate for the level my students are working at.
