I am a graduate student studying for a Masters in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing at the University of Oxford.

I graduated from University College London with an upper first (81%) in Mathematics and over the past five years have worked part time as a tutor, including for many of London's elite tuition agencies.

I went to Dr Challoner's Grammar School and studied Maths, Further Maths, Additional Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Geography at A level and received 2 A*s and 3.5 As as well as 12 A*s and an A at GCSE.

My hobbies include running where I have captained my university athletics team, blogging, photography and playing the piano. I hope to pursue a career in academia in the future and become a mathematical researcher and lecturer.

I have tutored over one hundred different students in numerous subjects accumulating over a thousand hours of tuition time. I’ve had vast experience tutoring mathematics; teaching children as young as four year olds up to adult learners in their thirties, though the majority of my maths tutees have been GCSE, A level or undergraduate students.

I have taught all exam boards and all core, mechanics, statistics and further pure A level modules including those required for further maths and additional further maths.

I was also a mentor at university where I help a group of first year students with their studies and have privately tutored a handful of pure maths undergraduates as well helping other university students studying engineering, economics, physics and chemistry with their maths modules.

At undergraduate level I teach analysis, linear algebra, group theory, newtonian mechanics, fluid mechanics, calculus, mathematical methods, complex analysis as well as various other modules.

I have also taught many students GCSE science and have also had experience teaching AS level physics and chemistry. In addition to this I’ve also tutored english, geography, french and business studies on occasion.

As well as private tutoring I have worked in schools teaching groups of students maths and science.

I also have worked as a piano teacher teaching students up to grade 8 level.

I believe that every student has their own way of learning and I will try to adapt my methods of teaching to each individual person. I think it is important that students understand the key concepts and ideas in each subject to a good degree of depth so they can apply their knowledge to exam situations.

In addition to teaching a student the knowledge required for a subject I also heavily emphasise the learning skills required to maximise efficiency in learning. I am a big advocate of the growth mindset which is the belief that that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work.

Rahil**From Ikram (5/5): ** *(A-Level Maths)* Rahil has been a great tutor and a big help in boosting my A2 Maths grade after difficulties at school throughout the year. I would strongly recommend Rahil as he is professional, enthusiastic and competent.

Rahil**From Kieran (4/5): ** *(GCSE Maths)* Rahil was very accommodating and flexible and my son had a useful couple of sessions with Rahil which helped him identify the areas that he was weak in and where he needs to put more effort. He now has renewed enthusiasm for the subject.

Rahil**From Kayla (5/5): ** *(University Maths)* Rahil was patient and knowledgable. I would definitely recommend him!

Rahil**From Jodie (5/5): ** *(University Maths)* I found Rahil to be professional, friendly and prompt in his communication. I did one lesson with Rahil and he was very patient, answered all my questions and went through worked examples with me. He works best if you go to the lesson with a list of questions and queries you have as he can then structure the tutoring to your needs. I would have done more lessons with Rahil if it wasn't for my decision to defer my exam to next year. I will however be contacting him closer to my exams next year should I be needing the extra help. Thanks for your help Rahil.

Rahil**From Sheena (5/5): ** *(University Maths)* Rahil guided me through some difficult topics in Mathematics and helped me understand them at a much deeper level - he could identify easily why I couldn't understand a theorem or topic and knew how to solve that problem quickly! Rahil was always very committed to help and very enthusiastic and approachable. I strongly recommend Rahil as a tutor.

Rahil**From Joseph (5/5): ** *(A-Level Maths)* Explains all methods thouroghly, and will go over them until you understand, very good teacher.

Rahil**From Thanh (5/5): ** *(A-Level Maths)* I am very glad to have found Rahil as my daughter tutor, he is very professional, patient and very reliable. My daughter really enjoy his A level Maths lessons and her confidence has remarkably risen. I would strongly recommend him to everyone.

Rahil**From Abdul (3/5): ** *(University Maths)* I think Rahil was a great tutor. It was all a bit disorganised when we met because of the way I approached the first session, so I'm going to find another tutor. Method of teaching wasn't suitable for me, but Rahil is a great tutor, nonetheless. Although I did understand most of what he was telling me due to prior knowledge.

I would like a refund, because I don't think it was productive.

Rahil**From Lynette (5/5): ** *(GCSE Maths)* A very polite, punctual and efficient tutor. My son was able to tie up many loose ends and feels more confident for it.

Rahil**From Rich (5/5): ** *(A-Level Maths)* Reliable guy, friendly and flexible… I've booked around 20 lesson's with him already… I have another 4hrs this week.

Rahil**From Leonora (5/5): ** *(Primary English)* I have emailed Rahil and have not received any reply as yet!

Rahil**From Alison (5/5): ** *(GCSE Chemistry)*

Rahil**From Narinder (3/5): ** *(GCSE Biology)* Difficult to rate - seemed pleasant and polite. My daughter only had 1 lesson. Didn't continue with lessons as too far from where we live.

Rahil**From Yu (5/5): ** *(GCSE Maths)* Rahil is a very good tutor, he is patient and explains everything in detail, he is also very flexible as he can teach maths as well as sciences. I would strongly recommend him!
