I am a career teacher of biology of 34 years experience. I have taught in schools throughout this time and have a broad experience of teaching 13 to 18 year olds. I have taught at all levels including Oxbridge entrance, A2, AS, IB, IGCSE and GCSE. I have taught several different specifications including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC. I have been described by a senior manager as one of the best teachers in the school I worked in and my pupils tell me that they appreciate my clear, direct and supportive style of teaching. I have taught on Easter revision courses and have offered one to one tutoring in the past. I can offer face to face tuition or online tutoring depending on the needs of the tutee.
34 years of teaching biology at secondary level in schools. I have therefore great experience of tutoring groups and individuals in biology. I have gained a life time's knowledge of what is needed to succeed in biology examinations and I know how to pass this on to any potential tutee.
My aim is make things clear and understandable to pupils of all abilities. Having taught for 34 years, I have prepared many students for examinations and I therefore have a clear insight into what the examiner is looking for. Having a good understanding of the key ideas and knowing how to apply these concepts to exam questions is the way to succeed in examinations. I am entirely flexible and and am happy to provide the support that each individual tutee wants.
