I am an enthusiastic and friendly tutor and practising musician who gained a first class honours degree in Music and English Literature in 2011, as well as receiving a prize for highest first year results in the School Of Humanities. I offer enthusiastic, positive and patient tuition of both subjects with an individual and tailored approach.

I tutor English and Music up to A-Level, as well as offering tailored tuition in Music Theory to Grade 8 and piano up to intermediate level.

I also have experience of teaching English as a foreign language, having taught it on a freelance basis during my final year of University.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught English as a foreign language previously to Japanese students, all of whom passed their basic English proficiency test after six months of tuition. I have also tutored both Music and English at GCSE level to a number of students and taught piano and Music Theory privately.

Tutoring Approach

My aim is to help my English or Music tutees reach their goal confidently at whatever level they are working, while also imparting to them my lifelong enthusiasm for the subjects.

As a teacher of English as a foreign language, I aim to give my tutees confidence to apply and practise their skills as much as possible while also ensuring to explain and highlight the finer nuances of our complicated language!
