I was seeking a math tutor to get up to a level in readiness for a university degree. As an older student i was nervous anyway going back In to education.
From the first lesson with Robbie I was put at ease and we went at a steady pace. Robbie’s teaching method and material I found excellent, he is super patient and makes more difficult areas easier to understand. He has been a huge help for me and I would absolutely recommend him if you are looking for tutor.

We wanted to find a tutor that would give our daughter confidence with GCSE maths and Robbie has done exactly that.

Robbie is professional, reliable, prepared, calm and provides regular feedback. Over two years, he has helped our daughter progress and be selected to sit the advanced paper.

Robbie has helped my son achieve higher than his target grade in GCSE Math's this summer. His approach to inspire confidence and praise as he teaches is a great benefit to students. Several maths disciplines were covered over a 6 month period and Robbie worked fast to ensure our son was as confident and positive in as many as possible. It was noted by his School teachers that his class work and homework had improved since the tutoring begin - all round it was a great service, offered by a polite and friendly professional, who has the ability to connect well with older children. I would recommend Robbie to any parent who wishes to provide their child with additional support during a hectic GCSE Revision schedule. Its well worth it.

Robbie has tutored my 16 year old son in GCSE Mathematics. He is punctual, polite and very organised.

My son was at ease with Robbie and has most certainly benefitted from being tutored as he gained a Grade 6 in his recent exam. I feel that this would have been unachievable without the assistance of Robbie.

Robbie took my daughter on during yr11 when I had concerns that her school was not providing her with adequate maths tuition and she had lost confidence in the maths ability I knew she had. It was a crucial time being her final GCSE year and she needed a good grade to continue with A-levels. An hour a week up to her exams with Robbie - she achieved a Grade 7/A. Very happy.

Robbie provided my son with excellent maths tuition, was always punctual and well prepared. My son's maths teacher at school had been ill and there had been a long period of substitute teachers, however Robbie brought my son back on track, enabling him to sit his GCSE with confidence and achieve a C grade. Rob was nothing but brilliant for my son.
At the beginning of Sept 2015 my son was in lower level maths destined to get a maximum Grade C until Rob took over from Oct. My son attained a B at the Higher level.

Robert was a Godsend. He took the time to find the right approach with our son who was struggling to keep up with his IGCSE Maths. He only had a few weeks to go before the exam, his confidence was very low and we were fearful he might fail. Robbie gave him a week of hour-long lessons after which our son's attitude towards Maths change completely. His understanding and confidence improved and he somehow acquired from Robbie the tools he needed to tackle those GCSE questions. I wish we could have had Robbie as a tutor for longer. His calm, pragmatic approach to the subject and the exams ahead made all the difference. When son returned to boarding school, his teacher noticed the change in him immediately. He kept that focus over the rest of the revision period and delighted us all by achieving a B grade. We are convinced he would not have managed that without his tutor's help. We will always be grateful we found Robert through First Tutors and cannot recommend him highly enough.

I've seen my son improve in just a few sessions - he's working towards his GCSE maths. His tutor spent the first session doing an assessment to see which areas need focussing on. His tutor is calm and explains very clearly workings out etc. He's articulate and arrives on time. Happy with the choice we've made.

We're very pleased with our daughter's first lesson. Robert is very easy going and reassuring which will really help with our daughter's low confidence in Maths.
