Personal Description:

By way of introduction, my name is Robert and I am a UK-qualified lawyer that is currently dividing my time between London/Vancouver. I have six years of legal training in the UK, including the award of First Class Honours (and Deans Commendation) at undergraduate level.

In addition to my knowledge of UK law, I have gained qualifications in the following areas of Canadian law:

- Foundations of Canadian Law
- Administrative Law
- Constitutional Law
- Criminal Law
- Professional Responsibility

I currently work in Real Estate at an international law firm, and devote my time in the evenings and weekends to my long-term tutoring clients. I have a number of UK tutoring clients, that I typically hold sessions on a weekend afternoon/evening with on skype.

I would love to help with your studies, and having practiced as a lawyer, I believe strongly in using real life examples to illustrate and simplify legal concepts.

Tutoring Experience:

I have previously worked as a teaching assistant at a UK college. This required me to assist pupils with legal matters, as well as assisting with mock trial preparation and teaching advocacy principles.

I currently have a roster of students that I hold sessions with on a weekly basis, as well as four students that use me on a more 'ad hoc' informal basis, to consolidate learning when required. I have been running my tutoring practice for around 10 months, and I believe my reviews show that I have achieved some pleasing results!

Tutoring Approach:

At the end of the day, the style in which I tutor depends entirely on the tutor. My personal opinion is that a combination of teaching the underlying legal concepts in the first instance, before testing knowledge through past exam questions is I believe the most effective way of building understanding.

If you have any specific aims in mind, please do feel free to reach out, and i'll see whether we're the 'right fit' for each other.
