As a UK qualified teacher and German native speaker (or Bavarian to that effect) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists I have worked as a linguist for many years in a number of varied roles.
I have been working for many years as a language tutor and translator in a number of jobs in Germany and in England.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching German and I passionately tell my students not only about the German culture but also food and drink and… and…
Although having taught English to adults in the past I also acquired the relevant qualification - CertTESOL.

I currently teach adults in various business sectors including blue chip companies who need to learn German for their business role.
In addition I also teach members of the UK Armed Forces who require German for their overseas placement.
I have worked as a German language trainer in Adult Learning in Bucks and this led me to train and qualify to gain my Qualified Teacher Status in England.
I then taught German for 10 years as a secondary school teacher in both state and private schools teaching German from Year 7 through to A-level in Year 13.
I keep up to date and am current with the GCSE and A-Level curriculum for all the examination boards.
Most of my school students have gained a higher grade for their German qualification and one student gained the top 5 marks for their year for the whole of the English examination board.
But even my adult students usually gain high results in their examinations from either the Goethe Institute and MoD (SLP).
When I lived in Germany I taught Russian in the German Armed Forces and then went on to teach English in adult learning centres throughout Southern Germany for several years.
I know the challenges a learner faces when having to adapt to the teaching style of a language tutor, but I think is it is the tutor that has to adapt to the learning style of his or student.
I always do my best to cater for the needs of my students, may it be their particular learning style or what they actually want to learn.
For lessons we can use locally available text books, but I prefer to use my own course material, which I have designed and put together of the last few years and whcih I will make available to you for our lessons.
Therefore my lessons are structured and as demanding and academic as a student wants it to be.
In general I will teach you what you really want to learn and need for a specific purpose. My lessons are therefore relevant as well as entertaining.
I can guarantee that you will really learn real German in my lessons… without the boring bits…
Lessons can be conducted in the comfort of your home, your office environment or over the internet via video conference (Skype, Lync, etc), but
in return I would require a booking of 1.5 h per session as a minimum.
