I am an enthusiastic and motivated individual with previous experience in working with children across a wide variety of ages. I have a 1st Class Law degree from a Russell Group University and A grade A-Levels in Mathematics and English Literature.
My background in teaching stems from my time in Secondary School where I voluntarily assisted in the teaching of GCSE Mathematics classes while undertaking my Mathematics A-Level. Additionally, I assisted in the teaching of GCSE English Literature classes and taught lessons directly to the cohort. I have spent two summers working at a children's' summer camp where I again taught academic classes in English Literature and Mathematics. While at University I was also a tutor within the law school for core legal subjects.
My approach to mathematics tutoring will tend to follow a problem-based approach. I seek to identify the issues the student is having and will explore different methods of learning so that they can find a way which suits them. For subjects such as English and History the identification of key terms and writing style will be identified and I would aim to allow the student to grow their own written style while also developing their essay writing technique, Finally, for Law, I will assist the student in their approach to more complex legal issues and help with the answering of problem questions.
