Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Rob, and I recently graduated from Cambridge, where I studied English. I absolutely love reading and writing, and really enjoy helping people to fulfil their potential and overcome challenges in their studies. I achieved a double first at Cambridge, came third in my year, and won the Kirby Prize and Collins Prize. I also help students with admissions tests at all levels. I took the scholarship entrance exam to Westminster School at 13 and won an academic scholarship, so have some experience of doing this myself. As well as teaching, I really enjoy writing and performing comedy, and playing and watching football and cricket. I also volunteer for a refugee charity.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring with various agencies for over two and a half years now. I have experience with teaching students aged 7-21, and have helped students applying for London schools such as Kings, Westminster, St. Pauls, Latymer and Highgate. I have also worked in Berlin teaching English as a foreign language, and during my time at secondary school I volunteered at a homework club for children from local primary schools.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that an approach needs to be decided upon after meeting the student, and finding out more about their aims and patterns of study. I push my students to work hard, but I always aim to create an environment in which they can enjoy learning, and feel comfortable voicing their own ideas and discussing things.
