Personal Description:

I am an outgoing, hard-working 23 year old 5th year medical student studying at Imperial College London. I am passionate about science and teaching, and enjoy playing the guitar, reading and writing for my university newspaper.

Tutoring Experience:

I have previous experience teaching medicine and the sciences in a variety of capacities. During summer 2016, I worked at a summer camp in New Hampshire, USA, teaching children aged 8-15 about topics within medicine and science, including physics and biology. Additionally I offered technical guitar lessons from beginner to advanced level students.

Currently at Imperial, I teach younger colleagues complex medical subjects in my spare time. This role has included serving as a specialized tutor for an intimate group of students specifically for medicine and biology.

I have also had personal experience with medical school entrance exams and interviews, including the UKCAT and BMAT. In addition to my experiences teaching within sciences, I have been working with students to teach music and to play the guitar for over 8 years.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching style can be adaptive to suit the needs of each individual student. Personally when teaching scientific subjects, I believe a 'bottom up' approach is the most effective, laying down effective foundations of understanding so that science and higher level topics are not simply memorized but understood and worked out, to adapt to the relevant questions that may arise in exams and/or life!
