Information About Robbie - Oxford tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Robbie:
Hi! I am doing my PhD in Synthetic Biology at Oxford University. I grew up on a sheep-farm in Australia and have experience in many different areas of biology - from conservation biology in the Simpson Desert tracking endangered marsupials to working in a medical context at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. I have studied ecology, biology and biochemistry an undergraduate at Sydney University, Australia, and received First Class Honours (98/100) in Biotechnology in July 2015.
I love biology. I hope to share my enthusiasm and knowledge about this subject with you, and enable you to achieve whatever you need to.
I have had casual experience as a tutor in the past. I have supervised undergraduate students conducting practical research projects in the lab, and also tutored them in molecular biology.
As I am Australian, I have not sat A-levels or yet tutored a student taking their A-levels. However, I have the skills and experience to do so, and I will of course review the UK syllabus for your specific needs.
I am a calm but engaging teacher. I aim to provide constant encouragement, while challenging and stretching my students to their limits.
Prior to my tutorials you will provide the content and areas you wish to focus on. While I can help practice and improve your performance in exams, I also try to remind students how INCREDIBLE nature is. By cultivating a love of biology students find it more fun and easy to continue learning about this subject.
