Information About Rob - Bristol tutor - (1 review)
This is how 3 referees rated Rob:
I am currently a Phd student at the University of Bristol, specialising in contemporary US fiction. However, I've covered just about the entire history of English literature over the course of my BA and MA degrees - from Chaucer, through Shakespeare, to T. S. Eliot – so don't hesitate to enquire if you want help with something outside of my Phd focus!
From next year I will be teaching undergrads as part of my Phd work, and this year I spoke at a conference in Bristol in front of both department colleagues and visiting academics from the UK and beyond. This would be my first tutoring experience, but I think that my academic experience, and previous jobs in customer service and community management, should stand me in good stead.
English lessons should be an exchange of ideas – the tutee and I would discuss the books and themes in question to get the ideas flowing and to refine those ideas over the course of tuition. I would also review the tutees written work, as this is something that I think a lot of people struggle with even beyond university. Through a combination of lively discussion and writing review, the tutee should be well-prepared for
