Information About Rob - Darlington tutor - (1 review)
This is how 2 referees rated Rob:
I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with over 16 years teaching experience. As a teacher and parent, I have extensive experience of sitting both sides of the tutoring fence. I have a wide range of interests, primarily based around health, fitness, the outdoors and mechanical projects. Where possible, I like to bring hobbies and real life scenarios (from the children’s perspective) to my teaching to bring their learning to life.
I have been a full time primary school teacher since 2001 and have worked in 3 local authority primary schools. I have taught in all primary year groups, the majority of my teaching experience being in key stage 2. I have taught a wide range of abilities and I employ many strategies to raise the attainment of children of all abilities. As I currently work as a primary school teacher, I have up to date knowledge of the national curriculum and the breadth of study in each primary subject area.
When working with a tutor, children are studying over and above what the school day demands. For this reason, I believe it is imperative that the studying experience is not onerous, but seen as an inspiring and enjoyable experience. I adopt a personable, fun and upbeat approach to my teaching. Where possible, I make my teaching practical and is always meaningful, bringing the subjects alive by tailoring the subject matter to the child and linking this with their hobbies and interests.
Any block of lessons will begin with an initial written assessment of the child. The outcome of the assessments would then be used to tailor the tuition to fit the areas of need, so maximum progress can be achieved. Work covered, and progress made is always reported to parent and carers.
