Richard

Hi, My name is Richard and I'm a Science teacher specialising in Physics. I currently teach in a secondary school in Chester. I have experience of teaching up to, and including, A-Level Physics. This allows me to prepare students to a standard that allows the transition to A-Level Physics to be much smoother and far less of a jump up academically.

Tutoring Experience

Since leaving uni I worked in the music industry, training and advising technicians to use complex music equipment and help develop their understanding of Acoustics. The enjoyment I received in helping people learn more about music technology & Science resulted in me becoming a secondary school Science teacher with a specialism in Physics up to and including A-Level. I have had experience in teaching AQA, OCR and Edexcel Science but am also up to date with the new Science curriculum having been involved with planning and delivering both KS3 and KS4 lessons.
I have also worked with younger gifted students teaching selected parts of the curriculum to help engage them in the world of Science

Tutoring Approach

You will find me friendly and very approachable making it easy to ask any question no matter how silly it might feel to ask!! I'm relaxed and laid back where it matters- most students cannot believe they have learned so much in a short amount of time!! With eight years in another very interesting industry I also feel qualified to advise/remind students what they are studying for- I use plenty of "real world" examples.

Tutoring will be done in Covid compliant surroundings- my tutoring room is a separate bright airy room with a large table so 2m can be maintained throughout the session. All surfaces are wiped down after every session and hand sanitiser is available on entry.
Obviously I will adhere to local rules and as such payment is per session (protecting you should a local lockdown be enforced.)
I can offer distanced/digital lessons by arrangement, via Teams or Zoom.
